The Lilley Mansion is at El Pimpi

Must visit when in Malaga is Bodegas El Pimpi, near the Alcazaba and Picasso Museum.

Heaven for wine lovers but you will enjoy the place even if you’re don’t! 

The Wine bar is housed in a 18th century building and started business in the 70s. Aside from being popular with locals and tourists alike, it has been a meeting point for celebrities since it’s beginning. The wall behind the bar is covered with pictures of celebrities like Sean Connery, John Malkovich and Antonio Banderas, who is even a business partner in El Pimpi. 

Tradition is also to have those celebrity guests sign a wine barrel. 

Nonetheless with all the daily local and foreign business,  El Pimpi has still managed to maintain its unique character, tradition and Andalusian culture…and is like most restaurants in Andalusia refreshingly down to earth: for a glass of Manzanilla (dry white sherry) that comes with olives and nuts I was charged 2 Euros ($2,20).
